Indusblue has been named an interactive web development preferred supplier for the CBC's website, building on an established, award-winning relationship.
Under the terms of this two-year deal, the Toronto-based interactive advertising agency will work with the any number of CBC departments including sports, news, entertainment, media and sales, to create new online environments.
"This agreement is a great vote of confidence for our agency," said Darren Pereira, Indusblue co-founder and new business director, in a release. "The noteworthy successes of our previous projects with the CBC have showcased the value of Indusblue's strategic interactive approach and our ability to create high-impact, online content. This new, expanded relationship makes us a closer partner with CBC and we can't wait to create other interactive experiences that truly excite, engage, educate and entertain visitors to CBC.ca."
"Indusblue has demonstrated exceptional design and technical capabilities, as evidenced with our 2006 Olympics Winter Games site," said Steve Billinger, executive director, CBC Digital Programming and Business Development. "We're pleased to continue building on this relationship and look forward to working with them as we continue our efforts to make CBC.ca the destination of choice for Canadians."
The 2006 Torino Winter Olympics website, built by Indusblue for CBC, featured real-time results; coverage schedules; photo galleries; on-line videos; special features; blogs and breaking news. The project earned a Canadian New Media Award in 2006.
More recently, Indusblue developed CBC's online Photo Gallery, a featured section on the CBC.ca home page as well worked on CBC's website for last summer's coverage of the 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
The agency's work makes use of the full spectrum of interactive online options, such as email, podcasting, video, Facebook applications, websites, mini-sites, contests, online games and virtual communities.
