A new slate of national events and activities for the digital media community will be launched under the name nextMEDIA World.
The portfolio incorporates nextMEDIA events in Banff and Toronto, a new west coast mixer, an online digital media publication, the Canadian New Media Awards and CIX – Canadian Innovation Exchange.
Mark Greenspan, recently appointed as Vice President of Digital Media for corporate parent Achilles Media Ltd, says the initiative is designed to meet the needs of the Canadian digital media community.
“With the expanded portfolio, we can now produce more far reaching products and services for digital content producers and distributors to establish valuable connections that can turn new media ideas into business deals,” Greenspan said in a release.

nextMEDIA Banff
The Rocky Mountains host this three-day event at the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel, from June 5-7. nextMEDIA Banff explores the future of digital content production, distribution and funding and is attended by the world’s leading edge content creators, broadcasters, agencies and advertisers. Linked with the Banff World Television Festival schedule, delegates can take advantage of the synergies connecting the two media communities.
nextMEDIA Toronto
Held in the heart of Toronto’s entertainment district and steps away from Bay Street, this two-day conference takes place in November and is the forum for the digital community to make sense of the dollars and cents of digital media.
nextMEDIA Vancouver
Introducing a new networking event that brings nextMEDIA to the west coast for the first time during Vancouver Digital Week, held May 11-15. Mix with digital media makers, producers and new media executives while enjoying canapés and cocktails.
nextMEDIA Source

Canadian New Media Awards
The Canadian New Media Awards is the premiere event for celebrating achievement in new media. For a second year, the awards will be held during nextMEDIA Toronto in November. The Canadian New Media Awards is a four-part affair comprised of a pre-awards showcase, cocktail reception, awards ceremony and the much-anticipated after-party.
CIX – Canadian Innovation Exchange
A new acquisition to the nextMEDIA portfolio, CIX is a nexus of ideas, creativity and talent that showcases technology-based innovation and entrepreneurship while bringing together key industry experts to share inspiring insights, ideas and success stories. The event features a showcase of 20 companies producing Canada’s most innovative products and services.
