Cable operator Shaw Communications is boosting its Video on Demand and HD offerings, expanding and adding new services for its customers in western Canada.
Shaw's VOD line-up now includes eight Global primetime TV shows, including Survivor, Lie to Me, The Good Wife, Family Guy, Glee, Bones, 90210 and NCIS
All will be free on VOD to all Shaw Digital TV customers until October 18, 2009. After that, the Primetime Global VOD programming will be offered exclusively to a select group of Shaw Triple Play subscribers who get the company’s bundled product lines of digital TV, Internet and phone.
Shaw is also adding new Warner Bros movie classics, all re-mastered in High-Definition (HD), including titles like Mutiny on the Bounty, Casablanca, Ben Hur, and An American in Paris, to popular favourites such as Dirty Harry, Fame and Malcolm X.
Shaw and Shaw Direct are also offering customers the chance to get the new NHL GameCenter Live at no extra cost when they sign up for NHL Centre Ice Early bird packages are available until October 31, 2009.
NHL GameCenter Live is online streaming that provides up to 40 live out-of-market games per week. NHL Centre Ice offers 1,000 NHL games, including up to 40 out-of-market NHL games each week, many of which are in HD. The Centre Ice package provides access to games broadcast in every NHL market across North America.
