Health Care System Delivers Video, Internet, VOD Services

A new entertainment and health information system will be installed in the London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC), in London, ON by Irish health care technology company Lincor Solutions.

Its MediVista healthcare solution provides bedside entertainment services for patients as well as point of care access to clinical data for medics, using a touch-screen system to deliver TV, radio, telephone, Internet, e-mail, video-on-demand and information services.

The initial phase of the contract involves installation of 300 beds at the 1,100 bed LHSC campus. A spokesperson for the company said it hopes to install systems for the remaining beds, as well.

Lincor, an Enterprise Ireland client company specializing in healthcare solutions, secured the contract along with its Canadian technology partner Carillion IT, a subsidiary of Carillion Canada.
