Presented by the Cable & Telecommunications Association for Marketing (CTAM), the Mark Awards is the premier competition for recognizing marketing excellence in cable and broadband, honoring outstanding achievements in strategic marketing, and spotlighting the creators of the work.
Awards are presented in Distributors, and Networks & Content Providers categories.
This year, nearly 1,000 marketing efforts were submitted to be reviewed by cable's top marketers. After two rounds of judging in the first half of 2009, the winners were announced at the Mark Awards Ceremony at the CTAM Summit in Denver.
Rogers Cable won four awards in the Distributors category, listed below.
US-based Showtime Networks received the most honors, winning a total of 38 Mark Awards – 14 gold, 15 silver and nine bronze; followed by Fox Cable Networks with 24 – five gold, ten silver and nine bronze. Notably, the National Geographic Channel broke a record established in 1998 by the Discovery Channel for a single, basic cable network, winning 16 awards.
Time Warner Cable won the most Mark Awards among the cable companies with 16 – six gold, seven silver and three bronze; followed by Cox Communications with 11 – three gold, five silver and three bronze.
