With nothing up its sleeve, Toronto-based Frogwater Media has launched a dedicated website in the promotional ramp-up to the world broadcast premiere of a one-hour CBC Television holiday special.
Called Greg Frewin Magic Man – Home for the Holidays, the show incorporates elements of a ‘reality-show’ as Frewin prepares a unique, outdoors magical stunt.
The show was taped in and around Niagara Falls, ON, where Frewin operates a 600-seat live performance theatre. He was recently named The International Grand Champion of Magic.
Exclusive behind–the-scenes footage from the special is offered online, along with viewer interaction options and prize give-aways. Interviews with cast and crew plus a ‘sneak peek’ two-minute trailer can all be viewed at www.magicman.tv.
Along with CBC’s holiday programming micro site, at
www.cbc.ca/holiday, magicman.tv will showcase Frewin's own ‘magical’ version of The 12 Days of Christmas, a series of 12 digital vignettes in which he performs a specially crafted illusion each day in the immediate lead-up to the CBC Television premiere, on Wednesday, December 9.
At www.cbc.ca/holiday, viewers are also invited to enter a very special ‘watch and win’ contest, offering the opportunity to snag a promotional two-night vacation package which includes tickets to see Frewin perform live in his theatre.
The show airs Wednesday, December 9th at 9:00pm ET/PT on CBC.
Established in 2007, independent production company Frogwater Media produces content for television, broadband and mobile including the online series The Naked Wine Show, BSGcast and the award-winning Your Geek News.
