Mobile entrepreneurs will get the chance to pitch their business ideas to some of Canada's leading Venture Capital companies.
Despite the economic downturn affecting most industries, there is still some funding for the portable media and mobile advertising sectors. But the ideas have to be strong and the business case must be valid.
Based on the reactions and experiences of a panel of VC experts assembled for the March 1 occasion by MobileMonday Toronto, the mobile industry networking group, some prospective entrepreneuers will find out if their ideas are strong enough for third-party financial support.
Also, as a part of the session, five companies from the Toronto area will be given the opportunity to present to the panel on the merits of their business or idea, and why they should receive funding.
"We've had fantastic turnouts for the past three venture capital sessions organized by MobileMonday Toronto. GTA companies have proven to be extremely innovative companies and it is our hope that the MobileMonday Toronto platform can help bring additional capital and exposure to help them reach their objectives," described assciation chapter co-founders Alexander S. Bosika and Jim Brown. "We've had participation over the last three years from some of Canada's leading VC's including Ventures West, BCE Capital, Brightspark, Verdexus Capital, JL Albright - BlackBerry Fund, RBC Capital - BlackBerry Fund to name a few."
