The Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television wants the audience to have a say in the first ever Canadian Screen Awards.
That’s the new annual awards show that celebrates the best in Canadian film, television and digital media.
The Academy is inviting fans across the country to submit votes online for their favourite Canadian Screen Star, and who they think should receive that coveted designation.
It’s also launched the FanZone, where fans can meet the stars face-to-face at the Sony Centre for the Performing Arts in Toronto, the night before the actual awards ceremony.
TV stars from CBC, City, CTV, Global, The Movie Network and more will participate in the live event.
And the Academy will provide tickets for lucky fans who sign up online to attend the Awards ceremony and live CBC Broadcast of the first Canadian Screen Awards hosted by Canada’s king of comedy Martin Short.
Established in 1979, the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television is a national, non-profit, professional association dedicated to the promotion, recognition and celebration of exceptional achievements in Canadian film, television and digital media. Unifying industry professionals across Canada, the Academy is a vital force representing all screen-based industries.
