Entering its second decade as the leading nationwide competition to celebrate the accomplishments of Canadian digital media companies and content creators, the Canadian New Media Awards have been reborn as the Canadian Digital Media Awards, or 'The Digis'.
The Canadian New Media Awards just celebrated its 10th year, with awards presentations at the Design Exchange in Toronto on December 1st. The event was staged as part of the nextMEDIA Toronto Conference.
Following the event, show producer Achilles Media announced the rebranding of its national awards program, and introduced 'The Digis'.
The Digis will showcase and celebrate excellence in all areas of digital media, including cross platform acquisition, production and distribution; portable media, interactive television, emerging informatoin and communications technologies and development.
"The last decade has seen monumental changes in the industry, and the new face of our awards program reflects the strides in the industry," said awards competition executive director Mark Greenspan. "We look forward to another ten years of incredible innovation and seeing what the industry has in store."
The nextMEDIA digital media conference looks at online content & publishing, interactive advertising, portable media, music, gaming and the techniques & technologies that make up the emerging digital ecosystem.
