Citytv and Sportsnet are airing a behind-the-scenes documentary look at the 2011-2012 Edmonton Oilers with the independent production Oil Change: Overdrive.

The Gemini Award-nominated series Oil Change: Overdrive is produced by Edmonton-based Aquila Productions. Don Metz is the executive producer of the series and Gord Redel is the producer.

Each of the six, one-hour episodes follows the Oilers on the ice, in the dressing room and away from the rink both at home and on the road.

"We are thrilled to have this property on both Citytv and Sportsnet this year," said Scott Moore, Scott Moore, President, Broadcasting, Rogers Media. "Not only is Oil Change: Overdrive compelling entertainment that goes deep inside one of the youngest and most exciting franchises in the NHL, this series is the perfect complement to the 60 Oilers games we'll be televising on Sportsnet West and Sportsnet Oilers."

Edmonton-based Aquila Productions was also recently honoured with 10 AMPIA nominations and four Gemini nominations for the television series "Oil Change" and "Rodeo: Life on the Circuit".  In 2010, Aquila received three AMPIA awards and a Gemini award nomination for the Olympic Hockey Documentary "On Home Ice".  Aquila just wrapped production on its critically acclaimed series "The Extra Yard: Inside the 2011 Argos."

The second season of the documentary series begins Friday, Oct. 21 at 8 p.m. (ET)/6 p.m. (MT) on Citytv Edmonton and Sunday, Oct. 23 at 11 p.m. (MT) on Sportsnet West; the schedule for the second season of Oil Change: Overdrive also includes premiere airdates for all six episodes on Citytv Edmonton and on the Sportsnet East, Ontario, West and Pacific channels.
