Online publisher Cue Digital Media is launching a new Sports Division and offering targeted ad opportunities on a network of team- and sports-specific websites.
Toronto-based Cue Digital has formed a partnership with the SB Nation network, itself a collection of some 300 team and sports-specific sites, with content contributed by recruited bloggers, writers and moderators.
The new division will be led by Jason Furlano, Director of Sales.
The websites cover every major pro sports league, college program and non-team sport in the US and Canada, and Cue will be selling premium advertising on the sites to top Canadian brands.
Cue Digital founder and CEO David U.K. says the SB Nation attracts “diehard male sports fans” who are affluent, tech savvy and difficult to reach through traditional media.
According to cited comScore Media Matrix numbers, SB Nation reaches 888,000 unique Canadian visitors and ranks in the Top 10 Canadian Sports Sites.
“SB Nation has just re-launched the network with a state-of-the-art design overhaul with the most responsive HTML5 web design ever. SB Nation is invested in providing the most current sports coverage and breaking news though the highest quality content, most engaged community and cutting edge technology,” described Kyle Ragsdale, VP of Finance.
Each site is devoted to an individual team, sport or league, and has its own writers, logos, team colours and local community flavour, reflecting unique team traditions and fan spirit getting closer to the things that sports fans really care about.
Cue Digital Media offers branded production and online advertising services as well as partnerships to major agencies and Fortune 100 brands. Cue represents several digital sports and entertainment websites, including SB Nation, UFC, English, Scottish and Premier Leagues, Heavy.com, TheChive, Funny or Die, Spike TV, Kongregate, CheatCC and Gametrailers.com.
SB Nation and the proprietary Chorus platform and multimedia stack on which it is published are owned by Vox Media, Inc.
