DHX Media has signed several new international digital content deals, as the Toronto-based production and licensing company builds up its Internet distribution network for children's entertainment programming.
DHX Media owns, markets and distributes over 8,500 half hours of children's content, describes Josh Scherba, SVP Distribution at DHX, including recognized brands such as Caillou, Inspector Gadget, , Kid vs. Kat, Super WHY!, Rastamouse, and Yo Gabba Gabba!.
New content partners include Tesco-owned blinkbox and its UK and Ireland offerings, alongside a deal for the same regions with FUHU and the kid’s centric NABI Android tablet it has developed.
Dailymotion will provide France, Switzerland and Belgium with various titles and also in France and Belgium, viewers will now also be able to access a selection of DHX Media content via the Canal Play Infinity and Belgacom platforms, respectively.
Elsewhere in Europe, a number of DHX Media shows will be on demand in Italy through Media Network, while in Slovakia VOD content will be provided by Voyo, in Greece and Cyprus by Riverdrop and in Turkey by D-Smart and TTNET. In Russia TVZOR has acquired a number of series in SVOD (subscription video on demand) and AVOD (advertising video on demand) deals.
The DHX Media library titles have also been acquired for the East African market and Opticom for Argentina, DHX reports.
The company also provides programming for Cookie Jar TV, the weekend morning block on CBS.
