Nominees for a 2012 Digi Award will be unveiled in a live and interactive webcast, as part of the annual celebration of Canadian innovation in digital media.

Event organizers say 60 companies and individuals will be introduced as Canada’s most dynamic digital media companies, and that the Digis will feature the “best of the best” in digital media, advertising, gaming, social media, mobile technology and many more. Nominees for this year’s Digi Awards, representing some 20 industry categories, were selected by a panel of industry experts.

The live webcast event will give the public an exciting opportunity to meet this year’s top hopefuls and to take part in an interactive Q&A session about the current mediascape, using social media.

Hosting the event will be Mark Greenspan, Community Director of nextMEDIA, and Andrew “Gunarolla” Gunadi, blogger and YouTuber and hearty partier.

This year, The Digi Awards will take place on December 4th, 2012 at The Carlu in Toronto.

The webcast is hosted by ANDPOP, the Toronto-based website operator and digital agency.

ANDPOP Inc. operates ANDPOP.com and ChartAttack.com, multi-platform sources for pop culture news and interviews. Its Web syndication platform includes partnerships with PPTV, Rogers and YouTube.

nextMEDIA brings Canadian media professionals working in the digital space together with international players, platforms, services and consultants who are actively evolving the media landscape in the areas of advertising, media and publishing.

The Digi Awards recognize and honour the breadth and scale of the ground-breaking work coming out of Canada digital media companies, projects, products and pioneers.
