Digital media firm Evolve Media has a new partnership with Wikia to represent its online advertising inventory in Canada and Australia.
Wikia will be represented under Evolve’s Gorilla Nation sales division.
Citing more than 2 million unique visitors in Canada, Wikia operates a global network of collaboratively published video game, entertainment, and lifestyle content sites.
It also operates a customizable content creation and distribution platform that allows users to share content on the network.
Wikia users seek to create and collaborate around deep, curated content on their favourite shows, movies, games and more. Currently, Wikia maintains over 200,000 wikis across an impressive array of subjects, spanning virtually all aspects of popular culture, from video games, TV and movies to sports, food, fashion, and current events.
Best known for its global video game reach, visitors to the Wikia Video Games hub can choose from more than 65,000 game wikis and 2.48 million pages of gaming content, which average more than 25,000 user edits each day.
“We’re thrilled to have the expertise and contacts at Gorilla Nation to help accelerate our business in these key markets,” said Bob Huseby, SVP Sales for Wikia. “Demand for our web and mobile video game and entertainment audiences is growing faster than we can scale locally.”
“Wikia has shown impressive growth in their content-rich communities, especially those in gaming and entertainment—making it a perfect fit for Gorilla Nation; our sales division that has perfected the art of engaging entertainment enthusiasts,” said Angela Kinsella, Senior Director of Business Development for Evolve Media Corp. “Based on our successful track record of building beyond-the-banner campaigns, we’re certain that this partnership will be highly beneficial for both readers and advertisers alike.”
