Two top Canadian publications have launched mobile websites using newly developed digital content creation and distribution tools.

Toronto-based digital media developer Polar Mobile reports that The Hockey News and Canadian Living are their first customers to launch on MediaEverywhere, the new HTML-5 based multi-platform media distribution software.

It’s been made available for a select group of customers only, in advance of an expected official launch later this fall.

“We are proud to launch The Hockey News and Canadian Living mobile websites as the first customers on our new MediaEverywhere solution,” said Kunal Gupta, Chief Executive Officer, Polar Mobile. “The positive feedback we are receiving from digital executives and technology leaders within media companies shows strong acceptance of MediaEverywhere.”

MediaEverywhere is an HTML5-based solution developed to help publishers build custom mobile sites and apps faster, easier and cheaper than traditional custom development. MediaEverywhere includes a number of built-in third-party integrations in its software development kit to support a cloud-hosted content distribution back-end optimized for mobile delivery.

The Hockey News and Canadian Living are flagship brands published in print and online by TC Media.

“With MediaEverywhere, we launched flagship mobile websites within weeks and are providing our users with a best-in-class experience that will drive increased engagement and monetization,” said Brady Murphy, Vice President Mobile, TC Media. "The flexibility provided by MediaEverywhere is exactly what we are looking for as a media publisher looking to extend reach to mobile in a cost-effective and efficient manner while maintaining control of the user experience.”

The Hockey News mobile website is now accessible at http://m.thn.com/ and the Canadian Living mobile website is available at http://m.canadianliving.com/.

Both mobile sites are optimized for new iOS and Android smartphones.
