Honouring the best in digital and Web-based interactive content, the Interactive Rockies were presented in a special ceremony held during the Banff World Media Festival.
The evening's program included a number of Special Achievement Awards, including the Award of Excellence in Digital Media for Lisa Kudrow and her online series Web Therapy; the nextMEDIA Award for Excellence in Innovation for Netflix; the nextMEDIA Outstanding Online Performance Award for The Guild's Felicia Day; the Next Generation Entertainment Award for Virgin Gaming; and the Award of Excellence in Interactive Programming to the National Film Board of Canada.

The Banff World Media Awards, affectionately known as the Rockies, are an internationally-recognized awards program celebrating the very best in global television and digital media production. The Rockies program includes the Banff International Program Competition - featuring individual awards ceremonies for Fiction, Non-Fiction and Interactive categories - as well as the Rockies Industry Awards Lunch and the glamorous Rockies Gala honouring Special Achievement Award and Grand Prize winners. This year's Special Achievement Awards winners include Howie Mandel for the Award of Distinction, Eugene Levy for the Award of Excellence, Edward Asner for the Lifetime Achivement Award, and James Burrows for the Sir Peter Ustinov Comedy Award.
