A new mobile advertising network stretching across Mac's Convenience store locations in Canada is set to launch, and operator iSIGN Media has signed up Olympic Gold Medalist Ashleigh McIvor to help make it official.
The interactive digital signage network launch is anticipated for March 15, 2012, but at events in Toronto on February 23 and 24, McIvor will reveal the actual start date for the network, along with other details.
Once fully activated in all 1,400 Mac's locations, operators say the national network will connect with at least 1.5 million mobile devices per day.
iSIGN’s technology uses Bluetooth wireless antennas to broadcast permission-based, interactive advertising messages to mobile phones within proximity of the retail stores.
The network can accumulate business intelligence data on shopper preferences by recording consumer responses as well as redemption metrics for advertised brands and services. The system does not result in any charge to portable device users, the company reports.
It does enable Mac's and other advertising clients to drive ROI with target messaging, achieving up to 30% response rates at a fraction of the cost of traditional advertising.
