Shaw Communications reports it is the first Canadian provider to launch new commercial-free music channels, together with Galaxie Music.
The new channels, fifteen in all, are available online, and via Shaw's television service
Content categories focus on cultural music, with stations ranging from Bollywood Hits, to Arabic, to Guangdong. Three channels appealing to young adults have also been added, programmers describe.
