Digital content creators and network program distributors have a new option for making valuable connections between the audience, the program and the advertisers.
Physical and digital media distribution company Cinram, media application developer Mobovivo and marketing and release rights management company 1K Studios have formed a strategic partnership to offer distribution and promotion services to producers, distributors, networks, and film studios.
Cinram, headquartered outside of Toronto, ON, is one of the largest distributors of Hollywood titles; 1K Studios is part of its California-based operations. Mobovivo is based in Calgary, AB
Mobovivo apps enable producers and broadcasters to market and monetize premium quality video across multiple digital media platforms and across multiple screen types.
Its online, mobile and set-top apps include a branded interface, an online digital locker for easy content access, digital rights management, 'watch later' capabilities, in-app promotions, leading-edge second screen technology, and a rich social media experience that heightens the viewer's connection to content.
Trevor Doerksen, founder and CEO of Mobovivo, broadly described the partnership in a phone conversation with Mediacaster Magazine prior to the official announcement.
He noted how it unites key strengths of each entity, and brings them to the digital media table: 1K has strong creative graphic strengths that enable it to develop powerful branded packaging and promotional strategies for program titles; Cinram has a powerful backend supply chain management capability and successful track record for global content distribution, while Mobovivo creates the software and application engines for the 'gamification' of programs, and the integration of user generated content and real-time connectivity with major social media networks to build audience engagement around a product, actor, program or title.
Cinram has been steadily growing its Digital Media division over 2011 to support the advancing needs of the industry, and the partnership is seen as a way to further enhance Cinram's existing media solutions for entertainment content owners and distributors.
"The Mobovivo partnership is the next step in our strategy of providing a single source, end-to-end distribution and marketing solution for new and existing clients," Ben Higgins, Senior Vice President, Business Development and Innovation for Cinram, described in a statement. "The focus of our combined capabilities is to expand our digital delivery to all devices, from the living room television to the smart phone, or tablet."
