Intense culinary challenges will reduce the number of contestants vying to be the next cooking expert on the Marilyn Denis Show, even as it introduces a year-long digital integration for the show and a key new sponsor.
Six self-proclaimed master chefs will take part in a week-long (Feb. 18 - 22) competition staged by CTV and the culinary sponsor for the Marilyn Denis Show, Maple Leaf Foods Inc.
At the end of the competition, Denis will announce who judges and viewers have chosen; viewers can vote online for the show's food guru, at marilyn.ca.
“An iconic Canadian brand, Maple Leaf Foods is the perfect partner to help us find the next Marilyn Cooking Expert,” said Mary Kreuk, Vice-President, Brand Partnerships, Bell Media. “Maple Leaf products can be found in kitchens across the country, and this initiative will demonstrate even more exciting ways for Canadians to incorporate these much-loved products into their everyday meals.”
“Partnering with The Marilyn Denis Show is the perfect fit for our brand,” added Stephen Graham, Chief Marketing Officer, Maple Leaf Foods, noting the insight and information on the latest food and health trends that the show provides, as well as the chance to celebrate up-and-coming Canadian culinary talent while showcasing Maple Leaf’s products and brands.
"The Search for the Next Marilyn Cooking Expert” features Maple Leaf Foods chef Shannon Brubacher as a regular judge on each of the challenges; the six finalists cook and prepare dishes with Maple Leaf’s leading consumer brands, including Dempster’s, Maple Leaf Prime, and Olivieri.
Each daily challenge also features a special guest judge and TV personalities.
The initiative kicks off a year-long partnership with Maple Leaf Foods Inc., which will include in-show segments and digital integration.
