Specialty channel W Network has ordered 80 x 30’ episodes for a third season of Come Dine with Me Canada from Toronto-based Proper Television.
Principal photography begins this spring with shooting taking place in Toronto, Prince Edward Island and Edmonton this season. It’s set to air on W Network in fall 2012.
Proper’s Canadian take on this international format has proven so successful that this latest season brings the total order to 200 episodes since 2010.
“It seems that Canadians have an insatiable appetite for Come Dine with Me,” said Guy O’Sullivan, president, Proper Television. “We are thrilled to keep dishing up more episodes.”
On Come Dine with Me Canada, five strangers face off by hosting a dinner party at their own homes over the course of one week. After each dinner, each competitor scores the host’s performance in secret. At the end of the week, the host with the highest score wins the title of ‘ultimate dinner party host’ and a cash prize.
Following a deal with ITV Studios Global Entertainment, Proper Television's Come Dine With Me is based on the ITV Studios format with versions produced in 34 countries to date.
Proper Television is headed by former BBC director Guy O’Sullivan.
Since opening in 2004, the company has produced a line-up of top factual entertainment, reality, documentary and docu-dramas; it works on creating both original series and adapting international formats for the Canadian market.
Watched by over 10 million viewers in an average month, the specialty channel W Network also operates a website with in-depth show information featuring expert advice from hosts in addition to a popular games section and a rich online community.
