First came trademarks, then brands. Now, it's Lovemarks.

Building consumer connections to new products and services is both an emotional exercise and a media activity.

As outlined and developed by Saatchi & Saatchi CEO Kevin Roberts, Lovemarks are better than trademarks and brands; they are iconic symbols emblazoned in the hearts and memories of worldwide audiences.

And they're one of the top ten ideas of the decade, as described by advertising and marketing news website AdAge.

Kevin Roberts will be appearing at nextMEDIA Toronto 2011, where he will deliver an informative keynote session about his Lovemarks theory, and offer insight into the future of media marketing and an analysis of the way consumers identify with their favourite brands, often through new digital media and Internet-based platforms.

"Kevin Roberts is a living legend in the industry," said Mark Greenspan, Executive Producer of nextMEDIA. "His work and ideas have played a key role in shaping the way agencies and brands think about advertising today. He is an iconic innovator with an uncanny sense of the future of the industry, and we are certain he will bring tremendous value to our delegates at this year's conference."

CEO worldwide for creative agency Saatchi & Saatchi, Roberts has worked with large-scale international clients such as Carlsberg, TMobile, General Mills, Procter & Gamble, Sony Ericsson, JCPenney, Toyota and VISA Europe among others.

Roberts is the author of a number of best-selling books, including Lovemarks: The Future Beyond Brands, in which he describes the emotional connections people make with products and services they love.
