Sigma Systems Supports Addressable Advertising for Cable Operators

Advanced and addressable advertising techniques and technologies are becoming key differentiators for cable operators and their advertisers.

Sigma Systems, a Toronto-based Advanced IP service provider, has recently picked up a couple of industry awards for its leading-edge advertising eco-system solutions.

The company reports its Subscriber Information Service (SIS) for advanced advertising has received a 2009 Cable.TMCnet.com Product of the Year Award from Technology Marketing Corporation (TMC).

The Subscriber Information Service provides TV operators with a solution for audience qualification, while protecting subscribers' identification and privacy. The increased adoption of video services, such as Video on Demand (VOD) and IPTV, has opened the door for entertainment and communications providers to deliver higher levels of personalization and interaction to the viewer. With the SCTE 130-compliant SIS, operators can understand their customers—including demographics, preferences and services available—to enable addressable campaigns for advertisers.

In addition to the Cable.TMCnet.com Product of the Year Award, Sigma Systems also received BSS/OSS product of the year recognition for its Service Management Platform in 2009. In past years, Sigma Systems has won for its Hosted Commercial Voice Service Package in 2008 and Residential Voice Service Package in 2007.
