Full episodes of a new reality competition among tech geeks and video gamers will be available online from Canadian specialty TV service Slice.
A Canadian professional gamer, a former paranormal investigator and an expert computer hacker are among those battling for the first-ever King of the Nerds title, and up to $100,000.
Premiering exclusively on Shaw Media’s Slice on January 23rd, the new series King of the Nerds is hosted by Robert Carradine and Curtis Armstrong, known for their roles in the comedy Revenge of the Nerds.
King of the Nerds puts 11 competitive nerds together in Nerdvana, where they will live and face challenges like a giant game of chess, a superhero debate, a live gaming match and a dance-off.
One competitor will be banished each week until only one remains to claim the ultimate nerd title.
“Unlike anything we’ve aired on Slice before, King of the Nerds is a fun and amusing series that takes a look at the nerdy side of competition. Continuing to explore new and intriguing content, it’s the perfect addition to our diverse winter lineup,” said Barbara Williams, Senior Vice President of Content, Shaw Media.
Full episodes of the show are available by video streaming, and additional show information is posted to the show’s social media site.
Shaw Media operates several specialty networks including Slice, HGTV Canada, Food Network Canada, HISTORY and Showcase.
