TSN is leveraging the success of its partnership in the Olympic Media Consortium with new leaders at the helm of its integrated digital media and marketing initiatives.
Stewart Johnston, President of TSN, has announced two new appointments to the network’s senior management team. Nathalie Cook has been appointed Vice-President of Integrated Marketing and Partnerships, and Mark Silver has been named Senior Director, Digital.
Both join TSN after successful roles at Canada’s Olympic Broadcast Media Consortium.
In the newly created role of Vice-President of Integrated Marketing and Partnerships, Nathalie Cook will lead TSN’s Brand Partnerships, Marketing, and Events divisions. Cook will further expand TSN’s growing number of integrated brand partnership programs and events, across all TSN platforms. She will also oversee all key functional areas related to TSN marketing, including consumer advertising, on-air promotion and special events, beginning with the launch of the Dominion All-Stars Curling Skins Game in January.
Cook and her Integrated Marketing and Partnerships team will support TSN’s sales, production, and programming divisions led by Joe Carter, Senior Vice-President of Sales; Mark Milliere, Senior Vice-President of Production; and Shawn Redmond, Vice-President of Programming.
Prior to joining TSN, Cook served as Vice-President, Marketing and Partnerships, for the Consortium, where she oversaw all partner relationships, marketing, and communications-related activities, as well as promotion of the London 2012 Olympic Games. In 2010, Cook was named one of the industry’s Most Influential Women by the Canadian Association for the Advancement of Women and Sport and Physical Activity.
“Nathalie’s ability to foster value-added relationships will prove to be an incredible asset to TSN as we accelerate our already successful brand partnership business,” said Johnston. “In this new role, Nathalie has a clear mandate to engage partners and clients with innovative, integrated campaigns across all of TSN’s industry-leading platforms.”
As the new head of TSN’s digital strategy, Mark Silver assumes a leadership role in driving the TSN brand with a multi-platform strategy that continues to deliver best-in-class sports content to Canadians across every screen. Working closely with multiple TSN business units, Silver will oversee content development and delivery strategy across TSN’s industry-leading web and mobile platforms.
Most recently, Silver was Senior Director of Digital Media for the Consortium, where he built and executed its acclaimed digital coverage of the London 2012 Olympic Games across multiple platforms. Previous to London 2012, Silver held the role of Director of Operations, Digital Media for the Consortium's award-winning coverage of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games that received a Gemini Award for Outstanding Technical Achievement in Digital Media, and a Canadian New Media Award for Best Cross-Platform Project.
