Videotron will launch a new video-on-demand service this weekend.
illico Club Unlimited, offering mainly French-language content, will be available by subscription in Québec and Ontario.
Beginning February 23, the new service will offer unlimited access to movies, television series, children’s programs, documentaries, comedy shows and concerts.
The service can be delivered to TVs, computers or Android tablets. Subscribers to the company's illico TV new generation will be able to view the catalogue on channel 900.
In addition to French titles, illico Club Unlimited will offer movies, TV shows and series from local producers and distributors, as well as major studios like Sony, MGM, CBS, Films Seville, TVA Films and Alliance.
“illico Club Unlimited has the largest selection of unlimited, on-demand French-language titles in Canada,” Robert Dépatie, President and CEO of Videotron, said in a statement. “Once again, our team is proud to have developed a home-grown product for local consumers. As always, we were guided by our determination to offer a product that exceeds viewers’ expectations. We leveraged the expertise of our content strategy teams to develop and deliver a diverse, relevant selection of mainly French-language content suited to the local market.”
