B.C.-based iSIGN Media reports it has completed development of a new delivery platform for communicating with mobile phones and tablet devices using Wi-Fi and Bluetooth simultaneously.

Location-based interactive proximity advertising solutions can be delivered free of charge to cell phones using Bluetooth connectivity, with standard business intelligence data gathering and report capabilities.

Precise direct marketing campaigns and Web-based tracking potential of Internet-based campaigns delivered via Wi-Fi are seen as more cost effective and ROI-driven than is possible via print, radio and television, iSIGN describes.

"This is a project that we've been working on for the past ten months," said Alex Romanov, iSIGN's Chief Executive Officer. In order to address prospective clients' requests for a product that would reach iPhones, iPads and other Wi-Fi capable devices, the company has worked to develop a single all weather antenna unit that can now broadcast to mobile cell phones, including the iPhone, by Wi-Fi and Bluetooth at the same time."

The company's new Smart Antenna system appears as a free and open access point to device users, who can view digital media content, including permission based user polling and loyalty membership management, with their device's built-in Web browser.

Users can also view mobile Web content, like coupons, product information and interactive games, without downloading special software.

"Having the ability to communicate via Wi-Fi strengthens our product line immeasurably," Romanov added. "We can now offer clients a product line that ranges from simple Bluetooth messaging with basic reporting, to Bluetooth broadcasting and full reporting or broadcasting utilizing both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth with full reporting capabilities. The Smart Antenna will significantly increase our Anonymous Mobile Analytics ('AMA') and related customer data."

The Smart Antenna includes a CPU, and can be connected with existing digital signage or point of sale platforms running Windows, Linux or MAC operating systems. The Smart Antenna includes an aluminum waterproof enclosure and was designed for extended temperature ranges from -40 to +85 degrees Celsius. As the unit draws less than 5 watts and is powered over an Ethernet cable with a maximum length of 100 m (300 feet), iSIGN says it can easily be installed indoors or outdoors and run off a battery for weeks if required.

iSIGN is based in Richmond Hill, Ontario with R&D and customer support operations in Vancouver, BC.
