BEAUSEJOUR, MB, Oct. 4, 2013 /CNW/ - MTS is now offering residents of Beausejour state-of-the-art telecommunications and entertainment services courtesy of its fibre optic network, the MTS FiON® Network. Beausejour residents now have access to MTS's innovative television service, MTS Ultimate TV®, and ultra-fast Internet services.

MTS Ultimate TV features over 420 channels, a wide variety of informative and entertaining apps, and access to Video on Demand and Pay-Per-View events. Subscribers can pause and rewind live TV from any room in their house with the Whole Home PVR. The MTS FiON Network also powers MTS's newest and fastest high-speed Internet plans which offer unlimited usage and are exclusively available in communities where MTS has launched its fibre optic network.

"The MTS FiON Network gives Manitobans more options when it comes to their entertainment and information choices," said MTS President Kelvin Shepherd.  "With over 120 HD channels on MTS Ultimate TV, and high-speed Internet plans capable of speeds of up to 250 Mbps, Beausejour residents have access to technology that is among the most advanced on the market."

Beausejour Mayor Brad Saluk and MLA for Lac du Bonnet Wayne Ewasko joined Mr. Shepherd at the Park Avenue MTS Connect/4L Communications store in Beausejour today to celebrate the launch of the new network.

"By bringing this technology to Beausejour, MTS has significantly contributed to our community's growing reputation as a great place to live, work, and do business," said Mayor Saluk.

This expansion to Beausejour is part of a multi-year program to deploy MTS's fibre-to-the-home network to over 20 communities in Manitoba. Since 2010, MTS has launched the MTS FiON Network in Selkirk, Steinbach, Dauphin, Thompson, The Pas, Neepawa, Carberry, Minnedosa, Killarney, and select areas of Winnipeg and Brandon.

"MTS's commitment to expanding its networks in rural communities is giving even more Manitobans the opportunity to connect. This is critically important in today's digital economy," said Mr. Ewasko.
