TVC Canada and Cedar Point Announce Resale and Support Agreement
TVC Canada Corp. and Cedar Point Communications, a worldwide leader in integrated Voice over IP switching technologies for service providers, today announced a resale and support agreement that is focused on expanding their mutual footprint in the Canadian broadband marketplace. This scope of this agreement is a sales plan that targets Canadian telcos and cable operators of all sizes.
Products covered under this agreement include Cedar Point's SAFARI C3 Multimedia Switch and the recently announced SafariFusion product family. Today, there are more six million subscriber lines on SAFARI C3's installed in customers in the Americas, the Caribbean and Europe. SAFARI C3 supports up to 250,000 lines of capacity in less than a cubic meter of space, incorporating all of the components that make up the voice switching infrastructure.
SafariFusion is a versatile, next-generation solution that will enable cable system operators and network service providers to harness the flexibility of PacketCable 2.0 & IP Multimedia Subsystem architectures for carrier-class residential and business communications services. The SafariFusion family, based on industry standard Web 2.0 tools, includes the SafariFusion Application Platform and two initial applications: the SafariFusion Residential Communication Application for residential communication services, and the SafariFusion Registration and Routing Application to simplify network registration, routing, and service roaming. The Cedar Point approach allows service providers to significantly reduce the number and complexity of network elements, providing simpler, more cost-effective deployment of PC 2.0/IMS services. At the same time, Cedar Point offers high degrees of flexibility, enabling SafariFusion to function in a multi-vendor configuration, or as part of a total Cedar Point solution.
Target applications for these products are residential voice, VoIP business services, SIP trunks for PBX traffic, TDM replacement & Tandem traffic, IMS migration solutions, High Definition Voice and Advance Applications & Fused Services. These solutions provide network operators with a cost-efficient, less complex VoIP alternative to distributed voice-switching infrastructures.
Luc Morissette TVC Canada's V.P. Sales and Business Development commented, "Cedar Point's innovative switching platform enables our customers a scalable, simplified and cost-effective delivery of VoIP and multimedia services." Morissette added "Cedar Point's suite of product solutions significantly reduce capital expenditures, system integration and operations costs for providers of telephony services. Cedar point's products have been homologated for the Canadian market, which simplifies the evaluation and approval process. We are very excited to be delivering this message to our customers."
Christopher Zanyk, vice president of sales and business development for Cedar Point stated, “Our longstanding relationship with TVC in Latin America and the Caribbean has made establishing this agreement extremely simple. TVC Canada has extensive business relationships with Canadian service providers and we are extremely pleased to be working with them as we aggressively pursue Canadian opportunities.”
